Working Hours

Employees can work 8 hours a day, up to 48 hours a week. Some jobs are limited to seven hours a day if they are considered dangerous or unhealthy.

Overtime hours can be worked up to three hours a day or 30 hours a month.

Minimum Wage

Effective 1st June 2025, minimum wage is set at ARS 313,400 per month, regardless of the worker’s age and experience. The minimum wage will increase to ARS 317,800 from 1st July 2025, and to ARS 322,000 from 1st August 2025.

Bonuses

Employers must pay a 13th and 14th month salary to employees who have been in post for at least six months in a calendar year.

Employment contracts in Argentina can be permanent or fixed-term, provided the fixed-term contract doesn't exceed five years. All contracts must be in writing.

Annual Leave

14 days' paid holiday, rising to 21 days after five years of service, 28 days after ten years, and 35 days after 20 years.

Sick Leave

Three months' paid sick leave, rising to 6 months after 5 years of service.

Parental Leave

• Maternity leave: entitled to 90 days of paid maternity leave, which is usually taken 45 days prior to the expected date of delivery, and 45 days after delivery
• Paternity leave: two days' paid leave.

Termination Process

Employers must give written notice of termination, including the reason for dismissal. Employees can't be dismissed without a just cause.

Employers must notify the Ministry of Labor and the relevant union of redundancies.

Severance Pay

15 days up to one year of service. Employees must then pay an additional two weeks' severance for every year served.
