Annual Leave
Leave entitlement depends on the length of the employee's service. In the first 12 months, an employee is entitled to two weeks' leave and three weeks after the first 12 months. Employees working daily or hourly are entitled to one day's leave every 15 days.
Sick Leave
Up to three days' fully paid sick leave after the first year of employment, on presentation of a medical certificate from a medical professional.
From the fourth day, sick leave is funded by the National Insurance Scheme (NIS). An employer is not required to pay an employee for more than five sick days without a medical certificate.
Parental Leave
- Maternity leave: three months' paid leave that can be scheduled before or after delivery. Employees provide an employer with a written notice, three weeks before taking the maternity leave. Maternity leave is calculated according to the type of employment.
