About

The independent state of Samoa, comprised of nine volcanic islands, is situated approximately half way between New Zealand and Hawaii. The economy relies on fishing and agriculture, though diversification efforts have seen success in tourism, offshore banking, and light manufacturing. Apia is the capital city, and is located on Upolu, the second largest island in the archipelago.
