The opportunity
Mauve Group is seeking an experienced, proactive HR consultant based in Western Europe to join our network of experts.
We are particularly interested in those who have knowledge and experience of HR and employment law in either Belgium, France, Italy, Portugal, Republic of Ireland, and/or Spain.
As a freelance self-employed consultant, you’ll bring your expertise in European HR and employment law to support our dynamic organisation and clients across multiple European countries, providing tailored HR solutions on an ad hoc basis.

The ideal HR partner will have:
- A bachelor’s degree in either law, employment law, Human Resources, or a HR professional qualification in a related field.
- Proven experience in providing expert legal advice on employment law and its practical application in at least one of the Western European states.
- A minimum of three years’ experience in a HR environment.
- In-depth knowledge of employment law, regulations, and statutes including collective bargaining arrangements.
- Ability to manage client employment law queries on behalf of Mauve.
- Capacity to provide up-to-date employment law insights.
- A strong understanding of the employee lifecycle and HR best practices, including recruitment, people management, performance management, employee transfers, disciplinary and grievance procedures.
- Skills to develop/amend localised policies and create comprehensive employee country specific handbooks.
- Experience in conducting detailed employment contract reviews.
- Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities effectively.
- Skill in building relationships and collaborating with our global teams.
- Membership in a relevant HR professional body (desirable).
- Ability to work independently and remotely.
- Fluent written and verbal English.
- Ability to speak either French, Spanish, Italian, and/or Portuguese is a plus.
- References and/or recommendations.
